Northumberland has always been one of my favourite places to photograph and recently I had the chance to revisit the area. This is an image of the famous Dunstanburgh Castle outside Alnwick in the North East. As this is the east coast, it is best to be here at sunrise. However, this shot wasn’t taken at sunrise, rather about 90 minutes after.
Llandudno Pier at dawn. I think Llandudno is a rather pretty seaside resort and remains largely unspoilt – unlike a number of English resorts! There are lots of photo opportunities in this area and in Llandudno in particular. The magnificent Victorian Pier is one.
On a recent trip to Anglesey, Wales, I visited the lighthouse at Penmon Point – Trwyn Du. Trwyn Du Lighthouse is a lighthouse between Dinmor Point near Penmon and Ynys Seriol, or Puffin Island, south east Anglesey, at the north entrance to the Menai Strait. The lighthouse has been unmanned since 1922 but is a magnificent structure to behold and photograph.
